Brosnan are Hull’s most up-beat three-piece. They take influence from bands such as Pulp, Snail Mail and The Stone Roses to inform their second-hand pop sound.
Strongly linked to the North of England (regularly playing in Hull, Manchester and Leeds), Brosnan have capably supported sell-out, big name touring acts including IDLES, Gengahr and Rascalton. Brosnan’s music has racked up over 100,000 streams and their videos over 65,000 views. Singles “Is This Thing On”, “Octopus” and “Being Alone” have garnered enthusiastic support from the media with plays on BBC 6 Music, Radio X, BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio (with the latter having been featured on the internationally broadcast TV show BBC Click).
Brosnan were recruited by The Warren Youth Project & The Joe Strummer Foundation to collaborate on the Three Minute Heroes project. The resulting single Being Alone was created using lyrics anonymously penned by someone still in school, giving Brosnan a perspective that most bands, including themselves, could never authentically capture. The video’s themes broadly concern issues young people face but also aims to show that they are not alone in having these feelings. Brosnan’s self-recorded, self-produced single “The King’s Bed” is set for release on 21st April and will be accompanied by a self-made stop motion music video.
